ELD Engine-connected logging for U.S. carriers

Electronic logs that hold up at the roadside.

TruckCrave ELD records driving time directly from the engine, keeps every duty-status change on file, and transfers records to safety officials when they ask for them. One app for drivers, one portal for the carrier.

Features

What drivers and safety managers use every day

Every feature below is part of the standard TruckCrave ELD app. There are no add-on modules to buy before you can stay compliant.

Automatic driving time

When the truck reaches 5 mph the log switches to Driving on its own. When it stops, the driver is prompted to confirm the next status.

Live HOS clocks

Drive, shift, break, and cycle time remaining are shown on one screen, calculated for the cycle the driver is operating under.

Roadside inspection mode

Hand the officer a read-only view of the current day and the previous 14 days, or send the ELD output file by web services or email.

Electronic DVIR

Pre-trip and post-trip inspection reports with vehicle and trailer defects, driver signature, and automatic vehicle details from the ELD.

Team driving

Two drivers sign in on the same device. Each driver's time is recorded under their own account, and switching takes a few taps.

Log certification

Drivers review each day and certify it with a signature. Uncertified days are flagged at sign-in so nothing is missed.

Malfunction monitoring

The ELD checks power, engine sync, timing, positioning, data recording, and data transfer. Problems are shown to the driver with a D or M indicator.

Unidentified driving

Driving recorded with no driver signed in is kept under an unidentified profile so the carrier and drivers can review and assign it.

Carrier portal

Safety staff review logs, propose edits for driver approval, manage vehicles and drivers, and keep records for the required six months.

For drivers

A logbook that does the math for you

Drivers spend less time on paperwork and more time driving. The app keeps the graph grid current and only asks for input when the rules require it.

  • Off Duty, Sleeper Berth, Driving, and On Duty statuses with location and notes
  • Personal Conveyance and Yard Move when your carrier allows them
  • Shipping document and trailer numbers attached to the day's log
  • Send yourself a copy of the last 14 days at any time
For carriers

Records you can stand behind in an audit

Original records are never overwritten. Every edit keeps the original event, who requested the change, and whether the driver accepted it.

  • Edit history and annotations retained for every event
  • Unidentified driving review and assignment
  • Malfunction and diagnostic event history by vehicle
  • DVIR history with defect and repair status
Getting started

On the road in four steps

Installation takes a few minutes per truck and does not require a technician.

Install the app

Download TruckCrave ELD on an Android or iOS phone or tablet and sign in with the account your carrier created.

Connect to the truck

Select the vehicle from the list and accept the Bluetooth pairing request. The icon turns blue when connected.

FAQ

Common questions

Which phones and tablets can run the app?
The TruckCrave ELD app runs on Android and iOS phones and tablets with Bluetooth and a data connection. The device should be mounted in a fixed position in the cab so the driver can see it from the normal seated position.
What happens if the phone loses cell service?
Logging continues. Driving time and duty-status changes are recorded from the ELD over Bluetooth and stored on the device, then synced to the carrier portal when a connection is available again.
How do I show my logs during a roadside inspection?
Open the Inspection tab. Tap Begin Inspection to show the current day and previous 14 days on screen, or tap Send Output File to transfer the ELD record by web services or email. Step-by-step instructions are in the Data Transfer Instructions.
Can a carrier change a driver's log?
A carrier can propose an edit, but the driver must review and accept it before it takes effect. The original record is always kept and can be viewed alongside the edit, as required by the federal rules.
What should a driver do if the ELD malfunctions?
Note the malfunction, notify the carrier in writing within 24 hours, and keep paper logs until the ELD is repaired. The full procedure is on the Malfunction Instruction Sheet.
Does TruckCrave ELD support Personal Conveyance and Yard Moves?
Yes. Both are available when the carrier enables them for the driver. Personal Conveyance is selected from Off Duty, and Yard Move from On Duty.
